Each year during DeLand’s Fall Festival of the Arts, held the weekend prior
to Thanksgiving, DeLand Quakers have a booth in the children’s area to
teach the ancient art of origami – folding paper to make forms representing
animals and flowers. Our favorite creation is the crane, an international
symbol of peace.

For the 4th year in a row, we will be teaching the art of origami, this year on November 23 & 24 from 10am to 4pm. Families will learn to make peace cranes, jumping frogs, and little boxes. We will also be reading and telling stories. Look for our booth in the designated children’s area.

The activity is very meditative and, judging by the reaction of the children, a little magical.
