On June 14th, DeLand Quakers again provided a book giveaway as part of the 2025 Juneteenth celebration held at the Sanborn Center in DeLand. We provided more than 600 books: books on African American history, culture, novels, children’s books, and some banned books. It was great to be part of this celebration of a momentous event in American history and to be part of a community event focused on continuing the struggle to bring about a society with equity, inclusion, and justice for all. We will have another giveaway again next year!
